Chapter 28

He opened the comments below and saw the harsh criticisms.

The company had a PR department to handle online matters, so he rarely paid attention to these things. This was the first time he actually read what the netizens were saying.

His first thought was that it really was Aurora posting, so her fall down the stairs hadn’t been too serious.

His second thought was that she was definitely making a scene.

She didn’t message him directly, yet she used that account to tell him clearly that they were still legally married.

She knew perfectly well that as soon as she posted from that account, he would find out.

“Mr. Steele, do you want to contact the madam to arrange some PR?” Zane asked beside him.

Ethan set the tablet down on the desk.

“No need to pay attention.”

Zane put away the tablet and nodded. “Then what about Miss Hart’s side…”

Ethan lightly tapped the desk with his left hand. “I’ll handle it.”

After a brief pause, he glanced at Zane. “What is Oliver Bennett doing now?”

Zane was momentarily stunned but quickly lowered his voice. “He’s gone back home. With your orders, Mr. Steele, he

doesn’t dare to come back to Ashire.”

Zane looked at Ethan again and continued, “Wherever he is, with your orders, it won’t be easy for him.”

Ethan responded with a simple nod.

Zane took the tablet and left. Ethan raised his head thoughtfully and gazed out the huge floor-to-ceiling window.

Even on the top floor of the Steele Group building, he could still feel the howling wind outside.

The wind in Ashire city was still strong.

The gale that swept across half the country hadn’t stopped yet.

The city was still operating at full speed, with every person following their own path.

Even on a windy day, the buildings inside were still bustling with voices.

April’s just-bloomed flowers had been blown off by the wind and swirled around, creating a scene both romantic and desolate.

But eventually, the wind stopped.

Three days passed quickly.

Although Aurora’s body hadn’t fully recovered, she had gotten much better-especially the dizziness from the mild

concussion had improved a lot.

During those three days, she prepared the first performance for VocalNight and finalized her costume and makeup.

Because she had just had a miscarriage, she couldn’t expose herself to wind, cold water, or eat spicy or cold food. So even though the weather was warming up, she had to wear long sleeves and pants.

She stayed in bed those three days and even gave a police statement midway, providing information to help the

investigation move quickly.

Everything seemed to be improving, just like the weather warming up after a strong wind.

She would get better.

On the sixth day after filing for divorce, the day of the first VocalNight live show, Aurora got up, washed up, and stood

before the mirror.

On the nearby rack lay the performance outfit she had been preparing-an intense red dress covered with layers of roses.

The unique and exquisite design made the cluster of roses look like a blazing flame.

Next to the dress was a carefully kept mask.

Matching the dress, the mask was decorated with exaggerated rose elements, looking both beautiful and dangerous.

All of this contrasted sharply with the pale and thin Aurora standing beside it.

In just a few days, she had lost ten pounds.

Her already slim figure now looked like a fragile paper doll.

She put on the red dress and wore the matching exaggerated rose tassel earrings.

Finally, Aurora reached out and took the mask.

Without hesitation, she put it on.

The mask fit perfectly, hiding her face behind it.

When she looked up again, the person standing in the mirror was already someone else.

It was Alba.
