Chapter 29

… Yes, I’m with her right now. I’ll personally take her there shortly.”

With footsteps approaching, Alexander knocked on the door before entering.

He just glanced once and immediately froze.

“You’re… Aurora?”

Alexander’s voice was filled with hesitation and disbelief.

It wasn’t hard to understand why-she had grown much thinner than before, now wore a mask, and with that outfit on, she was stunningly beautiful.

Even Isabella might not have recognized Aurora standing there.

Aurora turned around to look at Alexander’s expression and sighed helplessly.

“That’s me,” she replied softly. “Let’s go.”

Alexander nodded stiffly, his heart pounding wildly.

Aurora had always been beautiful, but now her beauty was breathtakingly intense.

Her former beauty had been gentle; this new beauty was more aggressive.

Still a step slow, Alexander grabbed a long coat and draped it over Aurora’s shoulders.

He supported her as they walked out and then got into the chauffeured car.

Inside, a makeup artist was already waiting to finish applying nail tips and help her choose high heels and other

accessories.

The car started, heading toward the VocalNight live broadcast venue.

At the same time, another chauffeured car was driving toward the same destination.

Lilian was inside that car.

She was busy directing her makeup artist to style her to look like a fragile beauty while calling Ethan on the phone.

“Ethan, it’s me, Lilian,” she said with a smile. “Yes, tonight’s the first live show. You have to be there. I saved you a seat.”

“Of course, they’re only treating me well because of you, Ethan.”

“Ethan, I know how good you’ve been to me. I’ll do my best.”

After hanging up, Lilian sent a message to someone else.

[Ethan will be there tonight. Prepare the materials for follow-up coverage.]

When she got an OK reply, satisfaction lit up her face.

In the Ashire city’s VocalNight live broadcast venue.

Aurora stood backstage with the other performers, waiting for their turn.

As the noise swelled, Aurora saw Lilian enter with her assistant.

All present were recent top picks from various companies, and everyone had been told not to provoke Lilian.

So as soon as Lilian came in, the crowd stood and greeted her.

“Miss Hart!”

“Lilian!”

“Hi, Lilian.”

Aurora wrapped in a long coat, stood at the very back, watching calmly.

She had known the ins and outs of the entertainment world for many years.

This time, Lilian came backed by the Steele Group, even personally supported by CEO Ethan Steele. Naturally, everyone gave her some respect.

But Aurora had no interest in greeting Lilian.

She didn’t say a word and quietly left to avoid the scene.

Lilian greeted everyone warmly in return, but then glanced toward the direction Aurora had gone.

A flicker of something passed in her eyes.

She had reviewed the profiles of the twelve contestants. She knew eleven well, but not the one called “Alba.”

Alexander Records’ top pick, but her information was confidential.

Even with Steele Group’s backing, the staff hadn’t provided any details.

They said Alba was personally managed by Alexander himself, and her files were kept at Alexander Records, so ordinary staff had no access.

Lilian had just glanced at the woman once and had no memory of knowing her.

The woman looked arrogant-was she Alexander’s lover?
