Chapter 7

After they finished their manicures, they had a spa session.

After dropping Isabella off, Aurora walked into a hair salon.

The stylist looked at her waist-length hair and sighed with regret. “You’re cutting it all off? It’s not easy to grow it this

long.”

Her hair was a waterfall of jet-black silk-perfectly straight, flawlessly kept.

Aurora looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her glossy long hair, porcelain skin, soft yellow dress, and a bare,

makeup-free face still stunning in its natural beauty.

She looked like a blooming lily-pure and elegant, without the slightest hint of aggression.

She smiled calmly.

“Cut it,” she said.

The waist-length hair had been Ethan’s preference, not hers.

The stylist gave a quick nod and began to snip. With every snip, strands of dark hair fell to the floor, like the invisible

shackles that had bound her for years.

After a long while, Aurora looked at the transformed woman in the mirror and smiled faintly.

“This really suits you! You look amazing,” the stylist exclaimed.

“Some coloring or styling would really elevate it even more. Want to do that now? I recommend this-take a look…”

Aurora glanced at the brochure beside her, then gently touched her stomach.

“Maybe next time. It’s already late,” she said.

The stylist sighed in disappointment. Aurora smiled. “I’ll come back to you for it.”

The stylist perked up immediately. “Promise?” she said cheerfully, then picked up a small appointment book.

“When do you think you’ll come back?”

Aurora looked down at her belly. “In about a week,” she answered softly. “It should be fine by then-at most, twenty days.”

If she still needs to be hospitalized after a miscarriage.

“Alright. I am looking forward to see you again,” the stylist called as Aurora left, watching her go with eager eyes.

Aurora smiled and nodded.

After changing her hairstyle, she headed to the SKP mall in the heart of Ashire City.

Luxury brands lined every corner.

She glanced down at her soft, feminine outfit and let out a small, mocking laugh.

Sweet and demure-Ethan’s favorite style. Because to him, it meant obedience.

But it wasn’t her style.

She walked through store after store, and by the time she came out, she had several shopping bags in hand.

Then she caught a cab and went home.

Back in the new apartment, in this unfamiliar space where she now lived alone, her face showed no emotion-neither joy

nor sorrow.

She took off the sweet, ladylike outfit and changed into a structured, stylish set from Valentino.

She set aside her canvas tote and picked up her Chanel chain bag. She kicked off the platform shoes and slipped into a pair of pointed Dior heels.

Then she looked at herself in the mirror.

Her lips moved slightly as she whispered, “Happy rebirth, Aurora.”

But the woman in the mirror didn’t smile.

She forced a grin, but it felt so fake, even she couldn’t believe it.

She had been with him for seven years.

Pretending it didn’t hurt would be a lie.

If she didn’t want to smile, then she wouldn’t force it.

Aurora let out a long breath and began preparing for the next day.

If she was going to start over, she would do it properly.

Tomorrow, she’d visit the hospital first, then meet with Alexander Frost to discuss the music show.

The next day arrived quickly.

Aurora drove to the hospital first-she already had an appointment with the doctor.

But before she even reached the hospital parking lot, her phone rang.

It was Alexander Frost.

He was the CEO of Alexander Records, the largest entertainment company in Ashire City, backed by the powerful Frost Group, which rivaled the Steele Group.

Alexander was the third son of the Frost family and currently oversaw their entertainment division.

The songs Aurora had released in the past had all been under Alexander Records.

After she got married, Ethan had asked her fo stay home and take care of his grandfather. Aurora had agreed, especially knowing Damien didn’t have much time left. So she stepped back from the spotlight.

But Alexander had always valued her talent. He suggested she continue writing under the pseudonym “Rory.” That way, even if her songs were sold anonymously, her name would still circulate in the industry, and returning later wouldn’t be

too difficult.

Because of Ethan, Aurora had signed a confidentiality agreement with Alexander Records. Alexander himself had

overseen the signing.

Only the two of them knew that Rory was actually Aurora.

Back then, she had been swept up in the joy of marrying Ethan and hadn’t given it much thought.

But now, the irony was bitter.

Aurora pulled over and answered the call.

“Mr. Frost?” she asked, puzzled. She remembered their meeting was supposed to be in the afternoon.

“Rory, is there any way you can come to the office now?” Alexander’s voice sounded hesitant.

Aurora immediately sensed something was off, because he had called her “Rory.”

They never used that name in private.

“Is something wrong?” she asked directly. Since she already had a doctor’s appointment, so unless it was urgent, she

didn’t want to change her schedule.

“Someone wants to buy your latest song,” Alexander said. His voice still carried hesitation. “I’d really like you to come in.”

Aurora frowned slightly, her confusion growing.

“You can just handle it,” she said. She had always left her songs for Alexander Records to manage. As the CEO, there was no reason for him to personally call her over something like this.

“The buyer is… a bit special,” Alexander added.

Then, as if making up his mind, he finally said, “Lilian wants to buy your song.”

What?

Aurora was stunned. Lilian? Wasn’t she a florist?

Why would she want to buy a song?

Before Aurora could ask, Alexander spoke again.

“It’s a bit complicated,” he said. “I already turned her down at first, but then she showed up at the office… and she brought

someone with her.”

He paused slightly before continuing, “Ethan is with her. They seem determined to get it.”
