That day, Kaelen threw a grand banquet, complete with dancers and musicians.
When the music began, the lead dancer was none other than Lyra.
Dressed in the silks of a mortal courtesan, she looked captivatingly beautiful, her performance stunning.
Kaelen, however, remained impassive, his eyes never leaving my face, filled only with adoration for me.
Her dance was exquisite. When she finished, the hall erupted in applause.
I smiled and clapped along.
Seeing my smile, Kaelen looked almost dazed, then roared with delight. “Reward her! A reward for anyone
who can make my Elara smile!”
Lyra smiled sweetly. “Thank you for the reward, my lord. Allow me to pour a drink for Lady Elara.”
Hearing her voice, Kaelen frowned, as if just realizing who she was.
Before he could stop her, she was at my side with a pitcher of wine. The hairpin in her hair was one Kaeler
had designed himself.
She leaned in, whispering so only I could hear, “My hands are a little shaky today. You’ll have to forgive me

“Who do you think he’ll leave with tonight? Me, or will he stay here to celebrate with you?”
Her words finished, her eyes gleamed with triumph. She looked straight into my eyes and deliberately “stum
bled.”
The wine spilled all over me.
Kaelen reacted instantly, slapping the pitcher from her hand, but not before the wine had soaked my clothes.
He frowned, his voice dark and menacing. “You court oblivion!”
Her eyes filled with tears, and she immediately knelt, begging for mercy.
I watched, saying nothing. In the end, Kaelen just waved his hand and had her taken away.
A moment later, he leaned close, his voice full of apology. “Elara, some unruly spirits are stirring again. I have
