The Storm Begin In Silence 14

Chapter 14

Fuller Group was quick and relentless in its attacks against Lloyd Group’s businesses.

Charles couldn’t bear to hand over his business, which he had worked so hard for, to someone else. He stayed up for days at a time to fight back, but was ultimately no match for someone as sharp and powerful as Zachary.

Just as he was beginning to drown in his company’s never-ending issues, he found out that his wife and daughter had gone missing. The news plunged him into despair.

Charles finally sensed how serious the situation was and dared not push it further.

“I’ll sign it!” He barged into Zachary’s office one day. “Where is the share transfer agreement? I’ll sign it right now!”

However, Zachary revealed coldly, “Lloyd Group will soon be left with nothing. The share transfer agreement means nothing now.”

Charles lost the last thread of hope at that very moment.

He was too drained to continue arguing with Zachary. When he later went to look for his wife and daughter, he found out that they were no longer in the country.

His subordinate warily informed him that Yasmin had been locked up in an abandoned hospital for three days. When they unlocked the door, the blood beneath her had dried up, and her baby was long gone. She

was now barely alive.

When they found Susan, she had multiple fractures all over her body. She seemed to have gone crazy and

even bit off her own tongue.

Charles hadn’t expected Zachary to be this cruel.

He tried to expose Zachary’s evil deeds, but he had no one on his side. He could only watch helplessly while Lloyd Group was taken over bit by bit before it eventually fell into Zachary’s hands completely.

After all this, he fell very sick and was confined to bed.

Zachary felt a weight lifted off his shoulders after he had done everything as planned. He finally got rid of all the people who had once harmed Melanie.

Next, he would repent for his own mistakes.

Zachary soon went to Kevin to ask for Melanie’s current address.

Against expectations, Kevin suddenly fell to his knees and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Fuller. I lied to you.”

Zachary’s gaze turned cold and steely. “You’d better make yourself clear.”

“It was true that Mrs. Fuller went to Alyvill.” Kevin clenched his fists so tightly that his fingers turned pale.

But she didn’t stay there. I edited all those photos that I sent you.”

Zachary froze, his ears buzzing.

He had run his fingers over those photos countless times. They had brought him comfort and helped him through numerous lonely nights. Yet, everything turned out to be a lie.

“So, where’s Melanie now?”

“I’m not sure.” Kevin’s voice was trembling. “Mrs. Fuller only told me to put you at ease with the fake photos. She told me nothing more than that.”

“If she didn’t tell you, why didn’t you ask?” Zachary suddenly rose to his feet. His domineering presence made Kevin hang his head lower.

After a while, Kevin choked up and said, “Mr. Fuller, I always felt bad about what I did to her.

“After Ms. Yasmin falsely accused Mrs. Fuller, I pushed her off the cliff with my own two hands. At that time, Mrs. Fuller had just miscarried, but I did such a thing to her. After learning the truth, I couldn’t sleep

well at night.

“And so, when she said she wanted you to never find her, I promised to help her…”

Zachary’s face turned extremely grim after he listened to Kevin’s explanation.

All this while, he thought Melanie was living a carefree life in Alyvill, so he didn’t go looking for her.

But the truth was, she had left Alyvill a long time ago.

“Find her.” Zachary gradually straightened his back and rasped his knuckles against the desk. “Make sure you find her, no matter what it takes.”

Half a year later, on a ship that moved across the vast ocean, Melanie stood on the deck, the sea breeze brushing against her long hair.

“It’s really windy here. Don’t go catching a cold.” Behind her, a charming man in white sports wear wrapped a scarf around her shoulders.

Melanie turned around and saw Jeremy Holt. She said with a smile, “Thank you.”

Jeremy stood next to Melanie and asked, “You’ve successfully published your first work. How do you feel?

After pondering for a while, Melanie replied, “I still feel like I’m dreaming.”

It had been some time since she had gone abroad.

First, she had gone to Alyvill. After that, she had boarded this ship and become a writer who traveled across the open seas.

Melanie yearned for freedom, and life on the ship was both carefree and relaxed. Before long, she adapted to the lifestyle and left behind all her worries in her home country.

During this period, Melanie started writing novels again-something she hadn’t done in a long time.

She had dreamed of becoming a writer before she married Zachary, but none of her family members supported her and even disdained her writings.

It felt as though only Yasmin’s dreams mattered to them and should be taken seriously.

After marrying Zachary in place of Yasmin, she had done her best to be a capable and supportive wife to Zachary, so she hadn’t done any writing.

She left Halwon as the ship pulled away from the dock-and it was on this very vessel that she met Jeremy.
