They threw me to the ground, seemingly discussing the order.
Eleanor screamed at Cassie again:
“Look how much they like Skylar, just let Skylar stay on the ship then!”
“As long as you let us go, we’ll give Skylar to you. It doesn’t matter if she’s broken or killed, alright?”
Cassie looked at me with a hint of sympathy.
“It’s truly strange. Not only do you two twin sisters not look alike, but how can your parents be so incredibly biased?”
Eleanor and Arthur instantly fell silent, daring not to say more.
But their guilty expressions revealed everything.
The last shred of concern in my heart completely vanished.
I curled my body into a shrimp shape, pulled out the black credit card from my pocket, and threw it by my feet.
Because my mouth was stuffed with a smelly sock, I couldn’t speak, so I desperately tried to signal them with my eyes.
The men saw the black card, and their expressions instantly dropped.
Cassie picked up the black card, her fingertips trembling.
“How do you have this card?! Only the yacht owner can possess this!”
She roughly yanked the sock out of my mouth, angrily questioning me.
I took a few deep breaths, using all my strength, then smiled at her.
“Didn’t I tell you? I’m the CEO’s daughter.”
Beside me, Eleanor burst into laughter.
She used all sorts of vulgar and disgusting words to insult me.
Arthur also grinned, cursing me for being delusional, telling me to stay on the ship and serve the men.
Suddenly, a chaotic commotion erupted outside the cabin.
Cassie stepped out to listen for a moment, then returned and slapped me several times.
She only stopped and flexed her wrist when both my cheeks were swollen red.
The translator explained to the dark–skinned men that a VIP from the top deck had lost something, and they were searching outside.
Cassie believed I was the audacious thief.
Brooke, seeing this, a malicious glint in her eyes,
“She stole something from a VIP, If we teach her a good lesson…”
Cassie immediately understood.
They planned to use me to curry greater favor.
Seeing the men approaching, their bodies swaying. I quickly lunged towards
I stood on the railing’s edge and shrieked a warning: “Don’t come any closer think you’re falsely accusing someone?”
“I can go confront the VIP with you, but you can’t let those men touch met”
the
door
Cassie hesitated for a moment, then finally agreed, only gagging and tying me up.
She called another man.
there’ll be no evidence! Will the VIP believe you then, or
Irecognized him as one of the bodyguards who had been standing behind Julian Harrison earlier.
I tried desperately to make a sound, to get his attention.
But perhaps my bruised and swollen face made me unrecognizable; he didn’t recognize me, merely glancing over.
The next second, I felt as if I’d plunged Into an Ice abyss.
Because I heard him whisper to Cassie:
“After we kill that old man Julian Harrison…”
I didn’t catch the rest of what he said.
But I finally realized that this yacht was Julian Harrison’s property, and whatever had him so distracted that he couldn’t acknowledge me, his daughter, must be a major problem.
Like betrayal from his own subordinates.
In my previous life, I hadn’t paid attention to any news related to this yacht.
I didn’t know if he would be okay…
Even though we’d only met once and exchanged a few words.
The deep affection in his eyes was something I had never felt from Arthur.
My heart tightened, unbeknownst to me.
Having had a second chance at life, an opportunity to find my true family, I didn’t want to miss it.
So.
When I was pushed onto the deck and looked up to see Jullan Harrison, a sense of reluctance involuntarily welled up inside me.
Cassie said in a coy voice that she had accidentally caught a thief and brought her for the VIP to see.
“I never expected today’s VIP to be Mr. Harrison, the CEO…”
A tender smile hung on her face as she quietly moved to Jullan Harrison’s side.
From my angle, I could clearly see the dark muzzle of a gun revealed behind her.
It was almost instinctual,
In that moment, I sprang up from the ground and shielded Jullan Harrison.
The bullet pierced my body.
Warm blood splattered on his face, and only then did he recognize that the supposed “thief” was me.
Before my consciousness faded, the last Image in my sight was the man looking up, his face full of rage, saying,
“Don’t let a single one of them go.”
When I opened my eyes again, I was in a hospital.
Having experienced death twice, I was dazed for a long time.
A trembling call pulled me back to reality.
“Daughter, you’re finally awake.”
