Chapter 21 Joseph Montgomery Saved Elaine
Before Eline could catch her breath, Kevin hauled her upright and slapped her hard across the face.
“How fucking dare you?” he snarled. “Who do you think you are? I’ve seen plenty of whores like you. Don’t bother pretending you’re a dignified worben when, in reality, you’re just a fucking whore!”
He lashed out at her, his insults growing harsher
The slap that landed on Llaine’s cheek hurt so badly that her ears began to ring. She trembled uncontrollably, and her vision swam.
Kevin was still seething. No one had ever dared lay a finger on him, so he couldn’t believe a mere slut like her had the audacity to slap him. He had to teach her a lesson!
His gaze darted around the room. Spotting a candelabrum, he grabbed it and stormed toward Elaine. He yanked her up by the hair and shoved a lit candle into her mouth.
“You’re just whoring yourself out for money, aren’t you? I’m loaded. Swallow a candle and you’ll get ten thousand bucks. Eat them all and this check for 50 grand is yours!”
He slammed a check on the table. Ignoring Elaine’s protests, he forced her jaw open and tried to shove the lit end of the candle down her throat.
The other people in the room knew how vicious Kevin was with women. They all looked away, pretending not to see.
As soon as the candle was forced down Elaine’s throat, a searing pain shot through her. Sweat began dripping from her forehead. Mustering the last bit of her strength, she croaked, “Kevin, you fucking piece of shit!”

Kevin cackled. “Say whatever you want. Once you become a mute, you think would help you?”
The moment those words left his mouth, his face twisted with agony and disbelief. An excruciating scream escaped his lips.
Elaine had stabbed Kevin’s neck with a shard of shattered glass she picked up from the floor. She didn’t know what spot she had injured, but blood began gushing our of the wound.
With all her might, she shoved him away while the others hadn’t yet snapped back to their senses. She staggered to her feet, then dashed out of the room with a pale expression.
Clutching his neck, Kevin stumbled after her, his eyes bloodshot as he roared, “Fucking bitch, you must have a death wish! Stop right there! I’m going to make you pay for this right now!”
Elaine limped down the corridor, lurching toward the elevator as Kevin’s shouts drew closer. She was completely covered in blood, unable to tell whether it was her own or Kevin’s. When people saw her in the corridor, they all avoided her like the plague.
Her throat was burning, and she was starting to taste blood on her tongue. But she couldn’t be bothered with it now. If she couldn’t make it to the elevator, today would be the end of her.
Kevin was nothing but a monster to women. Rumor had it that a woman once died in his bed, but later, the forensic results said that she had died because of a sudden illness. They never got to the bottom of things.
His wife was part of the Montgomery family, another family strong enough to be on par with the Frey family. They both dominated the business industry.
So, Kevin only feared his wife and no one else. He practically ruled over Tenby like a king
His voice still rang behind her as he barked, “All of you, go look for her! I must catch that woman today. Don’t you dare let her get away!”
Elaine’s pace quickened. The elevator doors opened, and just as she perked up, they began to close.
Inside stood two men. The one in the back had his head hung low and had a Bluetooth earplece in his ear. He seemed like a bodyguard. The man in front was taller, alinost pushing six foot three. His piercing gaze met her eyes, and it was devoid of sympathy. He didn’t even bother to hide his disdain.
Clearly, he wasn’t planning to help her.
Her hand shot out to stop the elevator doors from closing
“P–Please let me in,” she croaked, “Please. I beg you
Her throat was burning, and she sounded absolutely horrifying. Coupled with her bloodied appearance, it was hard not to detest her.
lo Crimson Bar, it was all too common for women to end up injured after entertaining the big shots or to leign vulnerability in hopes of snagging a kralthy pation.
The bodyguard took step forward “Please let go, miss There’s another elevator beside you”
As the shuffling footsteps drew closer, hopelessness consumed her Gritting her teeth, she fell to her knees and pleated, “Please help me. Let me go down willı you!”
It was then that Joseph Montgomery spotted the male under her left eye. Hitsryes flickered

The other elevator hadn’t arrived at her floor yet, and she couldn’t afford to wait anymore. Skylar had probably left her to die in Kevin’s hands. Judging by his footsteps, he was about to turn the corner and run right into her.
Without a word, Joseph stepped forward and shielded Elaine behind him.
She curled up in the corner of the elevator, the tall frame of the two men completely blocking her from sight
Kevin had already caught up to them. But as soon as he saw Joseph in the elevator, the anger on his face dissipated and was replaced by an award

“Hey, Joseph. You’re here.”
Joseph glanced at him. “Uncle Kevin, what are you up to?”
The club’s security guards were just about to explain the situation when Kevin suddenly let out a loud chuckle.
He said cheerily, “It’s nothing! I just came out for some air. It’s nothing, really, I’ll leave you
Joseph looked unfazed, and he didn’t bother to respond

business, then.”
Once the elevator doors closed, Kevin’s face twisted with fury as he slammed his fist against the wall. “Go look for her now! I must get my hands on her tonight—even if it means turning Crimson Bar upside down!”
Of course, he didn’t dare to let joseph–find out what was going on. Joseph was his wife’s nephew and the CEO of Montgomery Group. If his wife heard about today’s incident, he was doomed.
The security guard beside him asked tentatively, “Mr. Zimmer, the lady ran this way. Could she have been in the elevator-
“That’s impossible! Kevin cut him off impatiently. “A man like him wouldn’t even bother if someone died in front of him. Go search somewhere else!”
The elevator arrived at the parking lot
Joseph, who Kevin had claimed to be so indifferent and cruel, brought Elaine into his car.
She was worried that the blood on her might dirty his car, so she didn’t dare sit. Using all her strength, she hovered slightly above the seat.
Joseph thought she looked familiar, His gaze lingered on her for a bit longer before he asked, “How old are you? What’s your naine?
