Chapter 26 Sleeping With Him
The prison warders rushed over to the prison cell from outside.
Elaine had lost it completely. She had her hands around Beth’s neck, refusing to let po

The prison wardens had no choice but to use their electric batons to force Elain to let go before questioning her sternly abo
Beth, who was still shaken up by the incident, handed the photo to the wardens after some time. She explained, “Elaine brought her personal belongings in here. According to prison miles, everything that’s brought in has to go through strict inspection before being placed at their allocated spots.
“I noticed her secretly hiding this, so I wanted to show it to the wanders. As a result, she strangled me like a madwoman,
Elaine hurriedly grabbed the photo. With reddened eyes, she argued, “That wasn’t what happened. They started it. They were the ones who took my things from me.

Being in such an ostracized and helpless
is position made Elaine disconcerted. That being said,
Desperately, she rolled her sleeves up, wanting to prove to the wardens that she was hurt. However, the wardens refused to even pay any attention to her
Instead, the wardens asked the others, “What in the world happened?”
The other prisoners accused Elaine, saying, “I was just like what Beth said. Not only did Elaine bring her personal belongings in, but she didn’t allow `offers to ask about it or look at it. She almost strangled Beth to deaths earlier. As you may all know, she was already injured before she came in. Please
don’t accuse us unfairly.”
Elaine shook her head as hard as she could. “No. That wasn’t what happened. They were the ones who harmed me first. That’s just a regular photo. I didn’t bring anything with me that’s forbidden. ”

One of the wardens responded in a fright tone, “That’s an admission that this photo belongs to you. During any personal belongings, whether it’s a photo or even a grain of sand.
“More than that, you’re not allowed to attack your cell mates. Take her away and ensure she’s severely punished!”
Upon uttering this order, the other wardens who had tapped along immediately dragged Elaine out of her prison cell.
Beth yelled out from the prison cell, “sirs, please seek justice on my behalf. If this happens again, I’ll be strangled to death by her. You people won’t be able to explain yourselves if someone died!”
After dragging Elaine out, the prison wardens sprayed water at her with high pressure washers.
Being tortured for almost half an hour with jets of high–pressured wate
resulted in her wounds getting infected. It hurt so much that she almost passed
Alter that, she was locked up in a dark, enclosed room. It was only when day broke that the prison wardens dragged her back into her prison cell.
Some blood had clotted by her ear. She couldn’t be sure if it was blood from her mouth or her ear.
As the group of prisoners surrounded her bed, gloating at her misery, Elaine felt like their vulces sounded really distant. Their voices were all a blur.
Before she could even figure out what was going on, she fell unconscious once again
The prison wardens had clearly targeted the punishment at her. After that, her cellmates did all they could to torment her in manners that were worse and more brazen than before.
The ringing in Elaine’s car went on for the entire montie
Even when she slept at night, the buzzing in her ear continued. She was constantly so tense that she didn’t even dare to fall into a deep sleep. This resulted in her being severely sleep deprived.
She started to feel that she was deal in one ear. She started to be afraid of the light, any sudden noises, and even people.
When the prison wardens came in to check on them during bedtime, she was always curled up in a corner of her bed, shivering in fear.
Life for Skylar had been extremely peaceful this entire month,
Thea was discharged from the hospital and was recuperating at Birchwood Estate.
During the day, Skylar went to work. If he was free in the evenings, he would return home earlier to take her out for a walk.
Life like this seemed too peaceful. It wasn’t that he loved the noise, but peace like this simply made him feel like something was missing.
The could also tell that he hadn’t been in the best state as of late. So, she put in the effort to cook a few of his favorite dishes for him at night..
In order to prepare this meal, she even registered herself for cooking classes and had been learning how to cook for a while now.
Even so, Skylar wasn’t as satisfied as she had expected him to be. Picking up a plece of braised fish, he suddenly questioned, “Why is there black pepper

“Don’t you take black pepper?”
Skyler looked at the dish that was swimming with black pepper. There were also other disli that contained ginger and garlic.
For some reason, he was reminded of the dishes Elaine made previously. He thought to himself, “It Flaine were the one cooking, she’d know that I don’t take black pepper.”
Ginger, garlic, and aromats of the like were acceptable to him–but only if those aromats were removed completely from the final dish. He wouldn’t eat the dish if a single bit of those aromats were left in in
He liked light–tasting stews, but he wouldn’t like them if there wasn’t at least a little bit of oil in them. After the stews were prepared, the entire layer of oil at the top had to be ladled out
These were just a few examples. All of a sudden, he realized that he had been extremely picky with his food during those few years of being married to Elaine
Even so, she had never mentioned anything about it. As time passed, even he hadn’t realized how much care she had put into each dish that was made.
Suppressing the disappointment within her, Thea suggested, “How about I remake a few dishes for you?”
Realizing that he had reacted rather negatively, Skylar softened his tone and said, “It’s alright. They’re not bad. I just don’t have much of an appetite as I’ve been quite busy at work these two days. Just love these tasks to the maids moving forward. Getting enough rest and having a full recovery are your priorities for now.”
Thea wasn’t quite satisfied with that.
Over this past month when Elaine was absent, other than the mads and butlers, she and Skylar were the only ones around at Birchwood Estate.
She had caused Elaine to be imprisoned. Initially, she believed that Skylar would get intimate with her after Elaine was gone from his side.
Yet, he still returned home from work late at night each day. After having dinner with her, he would head to the study and remain there until he retreated to his own bedroom in the middle of the night.
Not only had she failed to sleep with him, but she saw even less of Skylar than when Elaine was still around
She even started to worry. Skylar and Elaine had known one another for ten years. He couldn’t possibly have fallen in love with Elaine, could he? Feeling insecure, Thea got up and followed Skylar upstairs. “Sly, I bought a new set of pajamas, but it doesn’t feel like it suits me that well. Could you take a look at it for me?”
Skylar answered, “I’ll look at it another day. I have a video conference later.”
Thea clung to his arm and urged in a cute voice, “Just have a quick look. It won’t take much time,”
Skylar couldn’t turn her down. She persuaded him a little, and he agreed.
He went with her to her bedroom. There, she entered her walk–in wardrobe and changed into a black, camisole nightgown. She pulled the neckline of the nightgown slightly lower before stepping out of her walk–in wardrobe
She approached Skylar, acting shy. “Is it a little too revealing? I don’t think I’m too used to wearing something like this.”
As she said that, she sat down next to Skylar on the couch and leaned into him, pressing her bosoms against his arm such that her curves were somewhat visible.
Thea had quite a good figure. Moreover, she had put on some light makeup tonight.
Skylar looked down at her and noticed that a large area of her back was exposed.
He recalled that day when he sent Elaine to Crimson Bar. That was the day when he made her wear a dress of the same color with the same revealing design. Just the image of that night made his body temperature rise.
Even though it had only been a month, it was a significant period of time. All of a sudden, he felt like he hadn’t seen Elaine in quite a long while.
Thea was under the impression that Skylar was reacting to her outfit. After all, very few men could actually keep their cool when they were holding an alluring woman in their arms.
Besides, she believed that Skylar was in love with her. So, of course, there was no way he’d be indifferent.
She gently reached out and unfastened the top two buttons of his black shirt.
