Chapter 102
Raised under the careful guidance of the Vaughn family young Dames had seen iss share of prominent faces and grand occasions. Yet as he stood beside the sinn, Solarius, nervously calling out to Luna, his heart hammered wildly in his cheer
But the woman sitting inside the car didn’t so much as glance at him
“Luna?”
Dames rose up on tiptoe, craning his neck to get a better look inside
Just then, Felicity stepped out of the car. Seeing both Vaughn men standing there by the Solarius, a pang of competitive anxiety shot through her.
With quick, confident strides, Felicity approached ‘Luna, right? I’ve heard que est about you. Word is, you ride motorcycles too. So do I. How about a one–on–ones race–what do you say?”
Harrison had lost to Luna earlier, and Felicity was determined to win back his prides Luna was a professional racer–that much Felicity knew. But as far as she was aware, Luna’s motorcycle skills weren’t on the same level as her racing prowess
Besides, after that grueling off–road race, Luna had to be physically spent if hey went head–to–head now, Felicity figured her odds of winning were high.
Still, the woman in the car remained silent.
Felicity scowled, her tone sharp. “Come on, don’t be so aloof. You’re here, ment you? Let’s have some fun.”
Dames’s eyes sparkled with admiration. “Luna can ride motorcycles too?” His: respect for Luna grew even deeper.
Felicity smirked. If Luna lost to her, Dames’s adoration would surely swing back im
her direction.
Harrison, meanwhile, stared down at a business card lying by his shoes, hiss expression unreadable. To him, this was just another woman getting carried away with herself because Adrian had chosen to spoil her.
“I’ll give you a hundred grand if you race Felicity,” Harrison said. Used to getting his way, he believed money could buy anything.
Selene nearly laughed out loud.

Chapter 102
How far would Harrison go to indulge Felicity?
He pulled out his phone, the glowing screen displaying a payment app’s QR code. He held it out for Selene to scan.
She ignored him completely, leaning over to whisper something quietly in Adrian’s
ear.
Harrison noticed their intimate exchange, his brow tightening in annoyance. Something about their closeness unsettled him.
Adrian listened, then nodded. He turned to Harrison. “Luna says she’ll do the race. But if she wins, your… friend here has to get out and run back to the finish line. However much she loses by, that’s how far she runs.”
“Who are you calling a ‘friend‘?” Felicity snapped, her voice low and furious. She rounded on Selene. “Hey! Take off that helmet and look at me properly! I’m all woman, thank you very much!”
Felicity reached through the car window, grabbing at Selene’s helmet.
Adrian’s eyes flashed coldly as he pressed a button on the door.
The window shot up, trapping Felicity’s arm.
“AAAHHH!”
Felicity screamed, her face flushing a deep, furious red.
The window slid down again. Adrian leaned across the driver’s seat, his expression icy and protective as he glared at Felicity.
“Where are your manners?”
His voice was cutting, the rebuke sharp enough to make Felicity flinch. The force of Adrian’s presence sent a chill through her. She instinctively stepped back, clutching her trapped arm, her eyes red with frustration as she looked pleadingly at Harrison, hoping he would stand up for her.
After all the adrenaline of the race, Harrison felt a craving for nicotine. He lit a cigarette, the ember glowing as smoke curled around his sharp features, lending him a wild, untamed air.
“You still want to race her?” Harrison asked Felicity, exhaling a plume of smoke. “Winner takes all?”
Felicity shook out her arm. “Fine! I’ll race her! Luna, if you lose to me, you get out of the car and crawl to the finish line!”

Selene pushed open the door and stepped out.
“It’s a deal.” To keep Harrison and Felicity from recognizing her voice, she switched to a foreign language, altering her tone and cadence.
Dames tilted his head up, staring at Selene, entranced.
He scratched the back of his head, murmuring under his breath, “Mommy?”
He recognized that foreign tongue–he’d heard Selene speak it before.
