Chapter 5
Seeing this spectacle unfold, everyone on the scene was wide-eyed with disbelief.
Louis, the CEO himself, looked completely bewildered.
“Carrie, has our company taken out any bank loans recently?”
“Why wouldn’t they just wire transfer to our corporate account?”
Carrie immediately put on a fake smile and stepped forward to inquire.
‘Mr. Williams, I think you’ve got the wrong address. Johnson Corporation hasn’t requested any loans recently.”
The bank president didn’t even glance at her. He cleared his throat and called out loudly.
‘Is Miss Jessica Bennett here?”
‘I’m under orders to deliver one hundred million in cash to Johnson Tower. Please sign to confirm receipt.”
Every pair of eyes in the crowd immediately turned to me.
Carrie just stood there gaping, staring at me in stunned disbelief.
I couldn’t suppress a cold smile as I stepped forward casually.
‘Gotta hand it to New York banks – they’re pretty damn efficient.”
President Williams glanced up at me briefly, then gave a respectful bow.
‘It’s an honor to serve you, Miss Bennett.”
Carrie couldn’t help but speak up.
‘Mr. Williams… I think you’ve got the wrong person.”
This girl’s just some out-of-town nobody. Why would you personally make a trip for her?”
The bank president pointed to my Suburban.
“Miss Fletcher, you finished a phone call about twenty minutes ago, didn’t you?”
Carrie nodded without thinking.
“That explains it. This hundred million in cash is compensation from her supervisor for your vehicle repairs.”
Carrie’s whole body started shaking, the color draining from her face.
“Mr. Williams, for the sake of our long business relationship, could you give me just a hint about who we’re dealing with here?”
“That information is classified.”
His answer was ice cold and final.
After this exchange, Carrie started sweating bullets.
Seeing his assistant get shut down, Louis felt his pride was on the line.
“Mr. Williams, as Johnson Corporation’s CEO, may I have the honor of knowing who this person is?”
The bank president sighed heavily, looking genuinely troubled.
“Mr. Johnson… I’m afraid your current rank doesn’t authorize access to that.”
The crowd erupted in shocked murmurs.
“What? Did I hear that right? Even New York’s youngest billionaire doesn’t rank high enough to know who this is?”
“One phone call and they mobilize a hundred million in cash? There can’t be more than a handful of people in the US with that kind of pull.”
“Holy shit… Carrie and Mr. Johnson just poked the wrong bear.”
As the chatter grew louder, Louis’s face grew increasingly pale.
‘Mr. Johnson, your assistant’s hundred million in cash has been delivered.”
‘Now… shouldn’t we discuss my compensation?”
‘You bitch, I just looked it up online

the most expensive Chevy Suburban only costs like sixty grand. It’s not worth shit.”
Carrie waved her phone in front of my face.
just smiled and shook my head.
Mr. Johnson, it seems your assistant’s perspective is rather… limited.”
My supervisor’s vehicle isn’t available for public purchase. How would there be a price listing online?”
I did warn you earlier – government vehicles come in different classifications. You really think civilian models are the same as nilitary-grade ones?”
