Chapter 5
All of a sudden, as if losing all sanity, he charged at us in a frenzy, seemingly trying to separate
- US.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t pull us apart. Instead, Daniel kissed me even more fiercely.
Not until the breath in my mouth had been completely taken and my body grew limp did Daniel finally let me go.
Then, without hesitation, he caught me in his arms as I nearly collapsed.
“Daniel, she is your sister–in–law. What are you doing?”
“This is my wedding. What do you mean by this?”
The two rhetorical questions showed that Miles’s blood was boiling, completely uncontrolled. Although Daniel was the younger brother, he stood a full head taller than Miles, thanks to his healthy build and strong physique.
He looked down at Miles, not just literally, but with an air of superiority, asserting his dominance. “Lulu isn’t my sister–in–law anymore. She’s your sister–in–law now. And this wedding was planned for Lulu and me half a month ago.”
“Miles, are you lost your mind? Barking at people like a mad dog here?”
Those words nearly drove Miles into a rage. Compared to Daniel’s calm composure, Miles appeared especially agitated.
“Lulu? Who gave you the right to call her that?”
“Everything here belongs to me. My name is on the wedding invitations and the banners. Daniel, I’ve known for a long time that you’ve been fantasizing about Lulu, but it’s time for you to face reality!”
“It’s you who needs to face reality, isn’t it?”
Daniel’s mocking words finally snapped Miles back to reality. Blinking in disbelief, he noticed something wrong.
All around him were banners with the names of the newlyweds.
The bride’s name was written clearly, but the groom’s name had been changed. It was not Miles’s name anymore. It was Daniel Vaughn’s.
Still unwilling to accept the truth, Miles desperately stepped forward and tried to tear the banners to shreds.
“How could the staff be so careless? Are they blind to print it all wrong? Don’t they know what they’re doing?”
But just as he was about to tear down another banner, a bodyguard suddenly rushed in and restrained him.
Then, my father walked in slowly.
“Today is my daughter’s big day. No one is allowed to cause trouble. Miles, if you continue acting out, don’t blame me for forgetting the bond between an adoptive father and his adopted son.”

“You really want to forget that your daughter is infertile? Your future heir is still in Monica’s belly!”
Hearing Miles constantly use the child as a threat, I could not take it anymore and threw a test report at him.
“Polycystic ovary syndrome? That’s nonsense. Monica just did something shady.”
For a moment, Miles picked up the report with trembling hands. When he saw the clear statement that my uterus was completely normal and conception would be easy, panic washed
over him.
The next second, he turned to Monica, who was sitting uneasily among the guests.
At that moment, Monica also realized that everything she had done had been exposed. She stumbled down from her seat and ran toward Miles.
“Miles, everything I did was for you. I just wanted a bright future for me and your child.”
As she spoke, Monica grabbed Miles’s hand and placed it on her belly.
“What I said is true. Feel it for yourself of how lively the child in my belly is. This child is the proof of our love.”
Monica thought she could use the baby to win back Miles’s affection and erase the lies she had
told.
But to her surprise, Miles did not fall for it at all.
He shoved Monica away with force.
“Get out of here. Go back to your so–called beautiful country!”
The push was brutal. Almost immediately, blood started to flow from Monica’s lower body.
The bodyguard, knowing full well that I would be glad to see this scene unfold, did not even bother to stop it.
Monica fainted the moment she saw the blood.
