Chapter 26
Vivienne didn’t show a hint of anger. She remained expressionless as she said, “Mia has a filthy mouth. Help me clean it.”
At that, one of the female bodyguards calmly pulled a pair of gloves from her bag and slowly put them on.
Mia, not knowing what was about to happen, felt a surge of dread and shrieked even louder. “Vivienne, you’re a slut who sleeps with every-
Before Mia could finish, the bodyguard grabbed a handful of used tissues from the trash bin beside the toilet and stuffed them all into Mia’s mouth. Her eyes widened in horror as she tried to spit them out, but she was pushed back into the toilet bowl again.
Vivienne watched coldly, devoid of sympathy or pity.
Mia had nearly killed her. Sparing Mia’s life was already more mercy than she deserved.
An hour later, Vivienne glanced at the group and gave them a subtle signal. “It’s getting late. Let’s go.”
Only then did the others release Mia. She slumped against the toilet like a broken doll, throwing up with what little strength she had. Her face was also smeared with tears.
Never in her privileged life had she endured such a dark moment. What she went through was nothing short of hell.

After dealing with Mia, Vivienne felt much better and went alone to a Veridian restaurant.
Just halfway through her meal, the door was pushed open. A tall, lean figure suddenly blocked her view.
Vivienne’s brow lifted slightly as she raised her head. And etched before her vision was a handsome, sharply defined face.
She put down her knife and fork. “Mr. Holt, are you here to discuss divorce?”
Sebastian’s deep, cool eyes settled on her. “Are you really clueless as to why I’m here?”
Vivienne responded lightly, “I’m not a mind reader. How would I know why you’re here?”
Sebastian’s gaze darkened. He studied her with a look that carried an unreadable weight. “Mia’s in the hospital.”
Hearing that, Vivienne didn’t look surprised, nor did she show any glee. Her tone was indifferent as she commented, “I see.”
“Don’t you have anything to say about that?”
She met his chilly gaze and smiled faintly. “Mr. Holt, do you really think I should sympathize or feel regret toward someone who nearly killed me?” Sebastian stared at her intently. “Aren’t you curious how she ended up in the hospital?”
Vivienne replied nonchalantly, “I don’t have the time and energy to worry about the lives of irrelevant people.”
“She claims you were the one who landed her in the hospital.”
“Mia and I have never gotten along. She’s also quite skilled at twisting the truth. How credible is her word?”
She looked straight into his eyes, smiling. “So, you came here specifically to question me about Mia? Mr. Holt, aren’t you worried that Ms. Schafer will be jealous?” Sebastian’s expression darkened, “Vivienne, did you have a hand in it?”
“Of course not,” Vivienne answered innocently. “It’s bad enough you take Melanie’s side over mine. Surely, you wouldn’t believe the lies of someone like Mia, too?
“But Mia insists it was you.”
“In that case, what do you plan to do about it?”
