Chapter 29
Vivienne had used all of her strength to deliver that harsh slap. Hence, Mia collapsed to the floor from the impact and could not get up.
Then, Vivienne withdrew her reddened palm and said indifferently, “I’m sorry. It was terrifying to see her running at me, so I did what I’did to protect myself.”
Although she was apologizing for her actions, there was not a trace of remorse.
Mia was just about to go all maniac again when Sebastian’s icy voice stopped her. “That’s enough.”
Perhaps he knew that there was no use in arguing to and fro. There would not be a conclusion to the situation without any solid evidence.
Sebastian added coldly, “Melanie, stay here and look after Mia. Vivienne, come with me.”
Without any hesitation, Vivienne turned to Melanie and Mia and mentioned, “I’ll be going first. If you two obtain any evidence, I’ll be more than happy to cooperate with the investigation.”

Once they walked out of the ward, Sebastian immediately grabbed her wrist and pushed her against the cold wall.
His dark gaze bore into her, while emotions swirled behind his eyes. His gaze was sharp and oppressive, and the air around them seemed to have dropped a little. ” Vivienne, is this your way of revenge?”
Vivienne’s voice remained indifferent as she answered, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Although there aren’t any surveillance cameras in that area, there would still be traces of the incident if I wanted to look into it.”

Vivienne chuckled and replied, “I’m innocent until proven guilty. Traces that you claim you’d find would not be enough to be regarded as irrefutable proof.” “So, are you admitting that you are the mastermind?” Sebastian asked.
She smiled brightly as she met his eyes. “Mr. Holt, you already have your answer. Why do you even bother to ask?”
Sebastian fell silent. He continued to inch closer toward her before she pushed him away.
Then, she said flatly, “Look, in your eyes, even Mia’is more important than me. Back when I fell into the water, the first question you asked was if I had jumped in on purpose.
“Now that something has happened to Mia, your first instinct is to interrogate me. No matter what happened, you’ve never once supported me.”
A trace of annoyance and exhaustion flickered across Vivienne’s eyes. “Sebastian, tell me, what’s the point of being your wife? If the law won’t accord me with justice, I’ll take matters into my own hands.”
Before Sebastian could reply, Vivienne turned and left without hesitation.
As he watched her leave, he suddenly found her incredibly unfamiliar. It seemed that throughout their three years of marriage, he had never truly understood her. After some time had passed, the door was pushed open, and Melanie walked out.
She looked at Sebastian, who seemed to be lost in thought, and murmured, “Sebastian, did Ms. Moore admit to orchestrating the whole incident?”
“She didn’t.”
Frowning, Melanie asked, “Sebastian, Mia’s emotions are unstable right now, and she refuses to accept any treatment. Are you sure there aren’t any other ways for us to find some evidence?”
He turned toward her and asked, “Melanie, are you asking me to find evidence to send my own wife behind bars?”
She froze momentarily before her expression tensed. She quickly explained, “That’s not what I meant. It’s just that what happened to Mia is terrifying. I’m scared she’d lose it and fall into depression.”
She observed Sebastian’s expression as she spoke, but she couldn’t glean anything from his impassive expression
