Chapter 35
Sebastian paused in his steps and watched with a dark and unreadable gaze as Vivienne left.
Seeing that he had not gone after Vivienne, Melanie immediately smiled in satisfaction.
Since Vivienne had made such a big bet, no matter what Sebastian did in the end, her reputation would be beyond redemption. If the crowd around them were to add fuel to the flame, he might have no choice but to allow Vivienne to be publicly humiliated..
1/1
After a short while, Vivienne returned.
She was wearing a clean black ensemble outfit, accentuating her curves perfectly. Her hair had been tied Into a ponytail, adding to the air of elegance around her. When Leonard came out and saw her, his eyes swept over her body before he sneered inwardly. He would be able to see how she looked naked in no time, Judging from her curves, she was definitely a beauty.
Sebastian frowned, saying, “Vivienne, you can still back out now.”
Vivienne merely glanced at him indifferently before looking away, ignoring him completely. Hence, he pursed his lips and fell silent.
The rules of the competition were simple. Everyone had nine arrows, and while they rode on the horse, they would have to shoot at three different targets. / There would be three rounds, and the highest score for each target throughout the three rounds would be counted toward the final score.
That meant that both Vivienne and Leonard had six chances each to make mistakes. After all, mounted archery was so much more difficult than normal archery.
Not only would they have to maintain control over their horses, but they would also have to aim and shoot at the target within seconds. Even a professional would miss their shot or shoot off–target.
With six allowable misses across three targets, that meant only two chances for mistakes across each target. It was an extremely unfavorable situation for newbies. Vivienne and Leonard would take turns, and there would be a total of three rounds for each person.
Leonard chose a horse and turned to Vivienne. “Do you want to go first, or should I?”
Mounted archery was about precision, not speed. Hence, there weren’t any specific requirements for the chosen horse.
Vivienne also led a horse over and replied indifferently, “Be my guest, Mr. Hutz.
”
He did not hesitate as he got onto his horse.
He was determined to show her who was in charge. So, without wasting any time, he quickly charged past the three targets and shot out three arrows with impressive speed.
The crowd couldn’t help but gasp in admiration after seeing the results oce
shot.
“Mr. Hutz sure is amazing. He managed to score an eight on his first round! One of his arrows was close to hitting the nine–point mark!”
“He’s amazing! He truly is amazing!”
Soon, it was Vivienne’s turn. She glanced at her horse, took hold of the reins, stepped on the stirrup, and swung herself over the saddle in a swift motion. Her movements were swift and steady. Although it wasn’t particularly flashy, it radiated a sense of confidence and elegance.
Everyone immediately took the competition more seriously upon seeing her swift actions.
“Her form is actually quite solid. My instructor had taught me the same thing yesterday. Does that mean the competition isn’t going to be as one–sided as I thought?”
Someone argued, “She probably has some skills since she’s dared to challenge Mr. Hutz. She would definitely be out of her mind if she decided to compete without having any knowledge in this field.”
Vivienne rode on her horse, charged past the target, and drew her bow.
After the three arrows were shot, the crowd fell completely silent.
Two arrows had missed their target, while one arrow had scored one point.
Mia, who had come with Melanie, couldn’t help but mock, “Here I thought she was talented in mounted archery. As it turns out, she’s just a flashy amateur.”
Since Mia had suffered a lot at Vivienne’s hands, she had come to hate Vivienne. Hence, she nearly laughed out loud upon seeing Vivienne humiliate herself in such
